Non-metallic inclusions and its effect on steel tube
- Aug 08, 2018 -

Non-metallic inclusions are strip oxides, sulfide, brittle and plastic silicate in the metal matrix, which is the reason of the impurity of the steel.

When the ingot segregation is serious, the non-metallic inclusions in the segregation section are more serious. Non-metallic inclusions affect the welding performance of steel, and make the solderability less.

When there are non-metallic inclusions in the edge of the steel strip, cracks and cracks appear in the weld area, and the light yellow inclusions are visible in the slit after flattening. Increasing the purity of the steel and minimizing the inclusions can improve the welding performance.
