The basic principle of steel billet heating

In the steel tube production, the steel billet heating process is actually heat transfer process, temperature difference is the basic condition of heat transfer, there is temperature difference will occur heat transmission, according to the Heat transfer process in the temperature of the body is not changed, heat transfer can be divided into stable heat transfer and unsteady state of heat transfer.

Steady-state heat transfer is the phenomenon of heat transfer in which the temperature of a body is not changed with time during heat transfer.

Heat transfer in unstable state refers to the temperature rising in the process of heating and the heat transfer from the surface of the object to the interior, that is, the temperature changing with time.

The propagation of heat has 3 ways of conduction, convection and radiation.


1 conduction

Conduction heat transfer is generally transmitted from the high temperature part of the same object to the low temperature part, can also be transmitted by the High-temperature object to its close contact with the Low-temperature object


2 Convection

Convection heat exchange is the transfer of thermal energy from high temperature to low temperature during the contact process due to the macroscopic movement of fluids (liquids and gases). Therefore, the medium of heat transfer mode can only be liquid (including molten metal) and gas. Convection heat exchange can occur between a fluid and a solid surface, or it can occur within a fluid.


3 radiation

Convection and conduction of two types of heat transfer must be the contact of the object to transfer heat, and radiation is the object can not be contacted between the heat energy from one object to the transmission of heat transfer mode.

The above 3 kinds of heat transfer methods in the industrial furnaces often exist simultaneously.
