In March this year, China's exports of seamless steel tubes in Iraq fell 73%, to 8992 tons, the seamless steel pipe exported to Syria fell 46% year-on-year, to 318 tons. But despite regional conflicts, ongoing energy development in the Middle East will continue to drive China's steel pipe exports. Customs statistics show that increased shipments of seamless steel tubes to other countries in the Middle East, including Iran and Egypt (two countries are the 10 largest Chinese steel pipe importers this year) are offsetting the decline in the sale of steel pipes to Iraq. As a result of the first 3 months, China's exports to these two countries jumped 55% and 80% respectively, so the first three months of China's seamless steel pipe total exports reached 1.38 million tons, down 2%.
