According to the World Steel Association (WORLDSTEEL) for 64 major member economies, global crude steel production in October was 157 million tonnes, an increase of 5.8% per cent yoy. Production in the first 10 months was 1.502 billion tonnes, an increase of 4.7%. China, the world's largest crude steel producer, produced 82.55 million tonnes, up 9.1% from a year earlier. India's production in October was 8.77 million tonnes, an increase of 0.4%. Japan's production is 8.56 million tons, down 4.5%. South Korea's production is 6.19 million tons, an increase of 3.5%. Vietnam's production is 1.68 million tons, an increase of 123.3%. Pakistan produced 440,000 tonnes, an increase of 1.2%. The 28 EU countries produced 14.75 million tonnes in October, down 0.8%. U.S. production was 7.57 million tonnes, an increase of 10.5%. Mexico produced 1.69 million tonnes, an increase of 1.1%. Canadian production was 1.16 million tonnes, down 14.6%. Brazil's production is 3.14 million tonnes, an increase of 3%.
